Things I have done so far:

-I've purchased the Identiv SCR3500 Smartfold Smart Card Reader with many people recommending it as a good CAC reader for Mac in general

-Followed every step on militarycac.com in order to use my CAC reader with my IMac

-Installed the PKard enabler (although I don't think I really needed it) by Thursby

I use either chrome or safari, however after completing all these steps, neither browsers work when I try to gain access to either the portal or DTS.

My computer and Thursby's PKard enabler program recognize my CAC and its certificates when plugged in but for some reason gaining access to portal or DTS is simply not working out.

Any suggestions?

BYOD becomes a bit more complicated when you work in an environment that requires stronger forms of authentication than a username and password combination. A close inspection of the iPhone or iPad reveals neither a fingerprint sensor nor a smart card reader, for example. Thursby's PKard Reader and Precise Biometrics' Tactivo worked as advertised, allowing me to successfully check email on both the Navy Marine Corps Email and the Army Email AKO sites.

Note, however, that the Safari browser on the iPhone and iPad does not support smart card authentication.
